The main responsibilities of an (Senior) Associate at XAnge are:
Sourcing
Sourcing of investment opportunities
Undertake in-depth analysis of 3-4 topics or trends annually to identify emerging investment opportunities.
Develop and maintain a robust network within the startup ecosystem, including business angels, incubators, and other venture funds, to ensure a continuous high quality dealflow.
Qualification
Deal flow analysis and selection of investment opportunities in DACH.
Presenting several opportunities with key elements at our Monday meeting with the investment team
Deep dive in investment opportunities with partners or principals, including but not limited to meeting with entrepreneurs, conducting due diligence with experts, preparation and presentation of memos in front of the investment committee
Deal making
Portfolio Management & Exit
Sitting on boards, internal reporting, support to the startup (budget, business plan, fundraising, recruitment…)
Deal exit: managing the exit process, legal documentation, closing, etc.
Miscellaneous
Represent XAnge at startup events, conferences, and in the media
Coordination with our various partners for startup events, meetups, etc.
Miscellaneous tasks related to company management: internal recruitment, management and training, LP and startup success, fundraising, marketing, etc.
Educational Background: Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology Management, or a relevant engineering field.
Professional Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in venture capital, startup environments, or related fields.
Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
In-depth understanding of business models in digital industries such as fintech or health tech.
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of crafting well-structured documents and delivering succinct presentations.
Soft Skills:
Strong empathy and active listening skills to effectively interact with entrepreneurs and team members.
High integrity and critical thinking ability to evaluate investment risks and opportunities.
Languages: Fluency in English and German required, with French a plus.
